Early Head Start Teacher


Job Summary:

The Early Head Start (EHS) Teacher works directly with families and children in their home and the classroom providing early childhood education, parent education, and advocacy. THe EHS Teacher conducts weekly classroom and monthly home-based education to children 6 weeks to 3 eyars, providing a unique opportunity for local families.

Qualifications: Interested candidates must have a minimum of an Associate's in Early Childhood Education. Compensation for this position includes a competitive wage and fringe benefits.

Assistant Preschool Teacher


Job Summary:

Assistant Preschool Teachers assist in providing comprehensive child and family development services to children, ages 3 to 6, and families, through center-based preschool services and home visits.



Required qualifications include a minimum of an associate's degree in early childhood education/child development or a valid preschool child development associate credential (CDA). A successful candidate will possess knowledge of early childhood development and developmentally appropriate practice and possess strong oral and written communication skills.

 Part-time, Substitute Teachers for Infant/Toddler and Preschool in Houghton, Keweenaw and Baraga Counties


Job Summary: Substitute teachers will educate children 6 weeks to age 5 in infant/toddler and preschool classrooms.


Qualifications: Interested candidates must be 18 years of age. Knowledge of child development and/or experience with infants, toddlers and preschoolers is preferred.

Youth Development Leader


Job Summary:

Youth Development Leaders engage students in a variety of hands-on afterschool enrichment and academic activities in the Great Explorations (GE) program. Duties include:

Establish and enforce expectations for groups of multi-grade students.

·         Plan, prepare and conduct engaging and challenging activities.

·         Tutor, assist, and mentor children individually and/or in small groups.

·         Act as a liaison between families and school day teachers.

·         Participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities.

GE sites are located in Calumet, Hancock, Lake Linden, Dollar Bay, South Range, Baraga, and L’Anse public schools. Each site operates for 2 ½ hours after school.



Related experience with school-age children and coursework in the field of education preferred.
